  • A Day At The Races - Another Wayne Childers favorite.

  • Boots Malone - Mary Ann Cooper says it’s a winner!

  • Casey's Shadow - Wayne Childers recommends this one.

  • Charlie Chan at the Races - Suggested by Manny Cadima.

  • Electric Horseman - Another Sandy Lamp top choice. Robert Redford fights to protect the dignity of a horse and helps him escape to the wilds.

  • Hot to Trot - A really silly comedy about horseracing, complete with talking racehorses.

  • Let It Ride - Harvey Diamond says, “this is a horse racing classic and one that every horse player can relate to”.

  • National Velvet - This another classic from the recommended list of Mary Ann Cooper.

  • Nice Guys Sleep Alone - It’s not a horseracing movie per se, but Wayne Childers recommends it because it was shot in the Louisville/Lexington, Kentucky area and has a backdrop about racing.

  • Phar Lap - This 1983 classic is a favorite of Californian Sydney Wool and Kentuckians Ben & Diana Cook.

  • Running Free - Sandy Lamp says, “this is a really good story about horses”.

  • Saratoga - This one’s a top choice of Gary & Lenora Ferraro.

  • The Black Stallion - This is the movie that inspired Greta Kuntzweiler to become a jockey.

  • The Horse Whisperer - Nancy Barr says once you get by the troubling opening scenes, that this is a powerful romantic story you won’t soon forget.
